CoolSculpting is a great treatment for the arms! The fat in the “batwing” responds well to the CoolSculpting Treatment. If you have excessive looseness in the skin, you may want something that will help tighten that up. We would love to discuss the best option for treating your arms in a complimentary consultation.

CoolSculpting can be used to treat fat on any part of the body. It is important to understand fat ratios though. Everyone has 2 different kinds of fat, visceral and subcutaneous. Visceral fat is the fat behind your abdominal wall. This fat cannot be treated with cosmetic procedures (only through diet and exercise changes). When you come for your consultation, our surgeons will be able to tell you if your belly fat will be amenable to treatment with CoolSculpting.

It is possible to freeze excess fat cells. The fat cells freeze at a warmer temperature than the surrounding tissues. The CoolSculpting treatment uses targeted cooling to freeze the fat deposits without damaging other structures. After the cells crystalize, we will do a massage to break up the fat cells. Then your immune system picks up these dead fat cells and carries them out through the liver as waste.

The CoolSculpting applicators use a gentle suction to pull your fat bulge onto the cold plate. The applicator then cools the fat to a temperature where they are crystalized and the cells rupture. The first few minutes may be uncomfortable just because of the cold temperature. After that, the tissues generally become numb, and the remainder of the cycle is pretty comfortable. After the cycle completes, we will do a 2-minute massage on the area to help further break up the fat cells. You may have some discomfort associated with this step, kind of like pins and needles when your foot falls asleep.

Each CoolSculpting cycle takes approximately 35 minutes, depending on which applicator is being used. You should also factor in time for paperwork and “Before” Photos. Most patients have 1-4 cycles per treatment session.

With CoolSculpting, the number of treatments required for you to see your desired results will depend on the area of the body and the amount of stubborn fat you want to reduce. Results are most effective when the area is smaller and fat cells are concentrated. Patients who want to reduce fat on multiple areas of their bodies with the CoolSculpting procedure will likely need more than one treatment for their desired results. Your provider will go over realistic outcomes and make sure your desired results are achievable with the CoolSculpting procedure. We will take your after photos at your 3 month follow up to help you determine if you will need more treatments to reach your goals. You can see photos of CoolSculpting Before and After One Treatment in our Gallery.

CoolSculpting is a non-invasive body contouring treatment that uses extreme cooling energy to target specific stubborn fat areas on the body and freeze your fat away. CoolSculpting is approved by the food and drug administration as safe and effective. The newer CoolAdvantange and CoolSculpting Elite applicators remove up to 25 percent of targeted areas of fat cells after a single treatment, so it is no surprise that more and more patients choose CoolSculpting over plastic surgery to tackle their problem areas.

The ideal candidate for CoolSculpting is at or near their goal weight with focal fat deposits that they would like to improve. If you have an illness that is exacerbated by cold temperatures (like paroxysmal cold hemoglobinuria or Raynaud’s disease) CoolSculpting Omaha may not be a good treatment for you. If you are unsure, you should discuss this question with your healthcare provider.

Each treatment will get you about a 20-25% reduction in the thickness of the fat layer. That doesn’t mean 20-25% of your whole body. You will definitely get better results with repeated treatments to a single area, and we usually recommend that a patient treat a single area fully rather than trying to spread out the applications over their whole body. In other words, you’ll get better results if you have four applications to your lower tummy than if you do one to your lower tummy, one to your upper tummy, and one to each inner thigh. It does take about 3 months for full results from the treatment.

CoolSculpting results take time. This is both fortunate and unfortunate depending on your goals. If you don’t want anyone to know you had “work done,” then it’s perfect. You will gradually lose the fat from the treated area over a period of about 3 months. Most patients first notice an improvement starting about a month after your first treatment. If your wedding is 6 weeks away, CoolSculpting might not be the best option for your body sculpting needs and something with more immediate results (like liposuction) may be a better choice.

CoolSculpting is a permanent fat reduction treatment. The ideal candidate for CoolSculpting will be able to maintain their results for years by practicing healthy eating habits and exercising daily. However, if you do gain weight after your CoolSculpting procedure you can come back for additional sessions to treat areas of stubborn fat.

Most patients lose very little weight with a CoolSculpting treatment (or a series of treatments!). A common misconception is that weight loss and fat removal are the same – they are not. Every person is born with a certain number of fat cells. When we lose body weight, fat cells shrink. In targeted fat reduction treatments (like CoolSculpting or Liposuction) the actual number of fat cells is decreased.

CoolSculpting is a non-surgical fat reduction treatment that reduces the overall number of fat cells in a specific area so that they cannot return. If they can’t return, they can’t get bigger.

Although CoolSculpting reduces many of the fat cells, it does not reduce all the fat cells in each targeted area so it will be possible to gain or lose weight in the treated area after the CoolSculpting procedure. However, patients begin to feel their clothes fit better and feel slimmer around 9 weeks after this treatment.

CoolSculpting is not a treatment for obesity.

CoolSculpting comes with many benefits, including:

  • Non-Invasive
  • Quick and Easy
  • Natural-Looking Results
  • Safe and Effective
  • Zero downtime, get back to your normal activities right away!

One of the reasons our patients love CoolSculpting® compared to surgical procedures (such as liposuction) for reducing unwanted fat is that it’s quicker and has no downtime.* Patients may experience a few common side effects related to the cold temperatures after their CoolSculpting procedure such as:

  • Redness
  • Minor swelling
  • Discomfort
  • Some bruising

As a non-surgical procedure, most patients tolerate CoolSculpting well and there are few risks. It is not uncommon for patients to have some bruising and possibly mild swelling after their treatment. Wearing some sort of compression garment (like Spanx) will help relieve this discomfort.

There will likely be some mild soreness to the treatment area, like after you do a hard ab workout. Patients rarely need anything stronger than ibuprofen or acetaminophen to control the discomfort. Many patients have some numbness in the treated area as well. This is caused by the swelling and usually resolves on its own after a few weeks.

A rare complication of CoolSculpting is paradoxical adipose hyperplasia (PAH). This is where, instead of shrinking, the treated area gets larger. It has an incidence of <0.01% and can be treated with liposuction if necessary.

You can get the full details on the risks of CoolSculpting here.

CoolSculpting uses a suction-based applicator to treat your stubborn fat bulges. The older generations of CoolSculpting applicators had a stronger “pull,” causing more initial discomfort. The newer generations, such as CoolAdvantage and CoolSculpting Elite, have a better cooling plate design, allowing for a gentler suction and less discomfort. Just a few minutes into any treatment (old or new) the tissues become numbed from the cold temperatures and the remainder of the treatment is very comfortable. As your tissues wake from the cold, you will likely experience a “pins and needles” sensation, like the sensation you have when your foot “falls asleep.” This generally lasts for just a few minutes as the tissues warm. After the treatment, you may have some tenderness in the area. Any discomfort after the treatment is usually well controlled with Tylenol or Motrin.

If you are looking for a cosmetic procedure with no downtime or incisions, you may be a good candidate for CoolSculpting. CoolSculpting works best if you have smaller areas of stubborn fat. You also must have enough skin laxity for the applicator to pull the tissues in. If your skin is too tight or the fat is too thick, the applicator won’t be able to function at its full potential, and your results will be less than ideal.

It’s important to recognize that individual results and experiences may vary. Some patients require multiple CoolSculpting applications over multiple sessions to achieve their desired result; this can take weeks to complete the applications and months to achieve full results. Often, this causes the overall investment in CoolSculpting to be more than a single liposuction procedure, which can deliver up to 75% reduction with immediate results that continue to improve with a healthy diet and a healthy lifestyle.

Of course, all patients interested in body sculpting want to know, “How much is CoolSculpting in Omaha?”. Pricing for CoolSculpting treatment is per cycle (average cost of $500 for a small cycle and $1,000 for a large cycle). You may need anywhere from one to six treatments depending on your goals and the size of the area you are wanting to treat. For CoolSculpting of the banana roll, for example, you will need two treatments or cycles (one treatment or cycle for each side). However, you may need a second treatment a few weeks later to achieve your goals.

Our memberships do offer up to 20% discount on CoolSculpting treatments, meaning your cost at Imagen could be as low as $400 per cycle.

As your CoolSculpting providers, our team will create a personalized treatment plan to make sure the cost of CoolSculpting is on track for your goals and budget.

As you consider CoolSculpting cost, also keep in mind that CoolSculpting participates in the Allē program from Allergan, which gives you rewards points that you can use for coupons toward future CoolSculpting treatments or for Botox and fillers from the Juvéderm family. You can sign up for Allē here.

This is a difficult question to answer, since individual bodies and each person’s fat deposits are different and each person’s goals are different. For most patients, a single CoolSculpting session will not yield amazing results. It is possible that if you are overall a small person with a small bulge that you are hoping to “make a little better,” then yes, a single session may be all you need. In general, we recommend 2-3 cycles per area treated for the best results, though it may take more than that in some cases.

At Imagen Body Sculpting, the cost of CoolSculpting is all inclusive. Your quote includes your consultation, all follow up appointments and the cost of the treatment.

One of the benefits of choosing Imagen in Nebraska for your CoolSculpting is having an experienced provider administer your treatment. Also, many clinics offer only CoolSculpting for fat reduction whereas Imagen offers several body sculpting solutions, including liposuction. During your consultation, our board-certified cosmetic surgeons will present the best options for you to achieve your desired results. If you decide that liposuction is the better option, you won’t have to go somewhere else and start the consultation process over again.
