How Much Does Liposuction Cost?
Far and away the most common question that we get from people calling or e-mailing our office is “How much does it cost?” That question is easy to answer for many procedures, including facial injections and laser treatments. It’s much more difficult for SmartLipo Liposculpting. The reason that it’s difficult is because everyone’s body is different and every SmartLipo procedure is different. Here are some of the things that may affect the cost of your SmartLipo procedure:
-
Which areas are you treating with SmartLipo?
We base our SmartLipo pricing on the areas that are being treated. We do not charge more if you have more fat and less if you have less fat in the area. Our doctors have specific landmarks that define each different area, so SmartLipo of the upper abdomen will mean the same thing for every patient, but what you define as your “tummy” might not mean the same thing.
-
How much Sculpting do you desire in the treatment areas?
4D Hi Def Liposculpting is an advanced liposuction procedure that requires special equipment and significantly more time than SmartLipo. If you are looking for more muscle definition in some areas, the cost may be higher for those areas.
-
Do you need skin tightening?
If you have severe skin laxity, our doctors may recommend that you look into a more invasive treatment, like a tummy tuck, rather than SmartLipo. SmartLipo can provide skin tightening, especially when combined with Tummy Tite or Profound treatments. The addition of these treatments will increase the cost of your liposuction procedure.
-
Are there other areas that will improve your result if you include them?
Often times patients will come in requesting a consultation for their abdomen, thinking that this will improve the appearance of their waist. Generally, treatment of the love handles (flanks) along with the abdomen will significantly improve the final outcome of the procedure and your overall appearance (it will also give you a nicer improvement in your waist size). Most patients who chose to have only the abdomen treated will come back a few months later requesting that we treat the love handles as well.
-
Are you looking to transfer the fat to a different area?
Transferring the fat to a new area (like your hands, face or buttocks – the “Brazilian Butt Lift”) will increase the total cost. The cost for the liposuction in the harvest area is the same, but there will be an additional charge for putting the fat back in.
For these reasons, it is very difficult to give a good cost estimate over the phone or via email. Other factors that may influence your cost would be any specials that we may be running (or any discounts that you may qualify for) and what sort of financing you choose. Cost will also be influenced by where you choose to go for your procedure and what type of technology is being used.
RealSelf.com lists the average cost for liposuction as $6025 (as of 6/4/17), but this is the average of all areas (combined) and all procedures (SmartLipo, traditional lipo, etc). The best way to get cost information for a liposuction procedure is always to go in and meet with the doctor so that you can discuss your areas of concern and your goals with the procedure.
