Who is Your Provider?
We often encounter patients who are confused about what is meant by the term “provider.” A “provider” is any person who provides a service. The term is often used as a catch-all basket by medical practices and hospitals to refer to doctors, physician assistants, nurses and sometimes even nursing assistants and other technicians. This can be very confusing to patients, since they don’t really know the level of training and experience that a “provider” rendering a treatment has.
Your Provider’s Education
In any area of medicine, including cosmetic surgery, the level of education, along with specialized training and extensive experience are among the most important factors influencing the outcome of any treatment and/or procedure. The best technology and tools are important, but if your “provider” has not received the proper education and training, the result could be disastrous. This is why is very important to ask during your consultation who will be performing each step of your procedure, including the post care appointments. Also be sure to ask who would be caring for you if complications would occur.
Your Provider’s Experience
At Imagen Body Sculpting & Cosmetic Center all procedures are performed by our experienced medical doctors, even what other practices may call “minor procedures,” such as Botox injections or laser treatments. We are with our patients during every step of their journey and care is never passed on to other “providers.” This allows us to maximize results while minimizing the possibility of risks and complications. Even though medicine is not an exact science (risks and complications can occur at any time), we always strive to give our patients the best possible care by using the most educated and experienced members of our team as our only “providers.”
