Liposuction of the abdomen and flanks – aka SmartLipo 360 – is Imagen’s most requested fat reduction procedure. The stomach and love handles are where many struggle with stubborn fat, but liposuction can be used to reduce fat from almost any area of the body. Everything from hormones and genetics to lifestyle and medication can affect where your body accumulates fat. Instead of living with discomfort or insecurities, schedule a consultation with one of Imagen’s board certified physicians to learn how we can help. Below are a few examples of body areas that are less known, but still treatable with liposuction.
1. Jawline
Sometimes referred to as the Turkey Neck, fat stored around the chin and neck area can be treated with liposuction for a more defined jawline.
2. Lipomas
These fatty lumps can be a cause of insecurity for some, especially when they appear in less discreet areas like the neck or arms.
3. Bra Fat
In addition to fat reduction of the underarms, Imagen can extend your liposuction treatment all the way to your bra area.
4. Gynecomastia
Also known as male breasts, Gynecomastia isn’t just the result of weight gain. Excess fat in the male chest can be a side-effect of some prescription medications, a change in hormones or genetics.
5. Knees
Liposuction of the inner and outer thighs is another popular procedure at Imagen, but we can also treat excess fat around knees. The knees are also a body area where we can address skin laxity caused by weight loss or aging.
6. Kankles
Fatty ankles are most commonly the result of genetics and yes, they can be treated with liposuction to give you more desired tapering of the calf muscles. *It should be noted that there are some medical conditions that cause swelling of the ankles, such as Lymphedema, which can not be treated with liposuction.
7. Buffalo Hump
The dorsocervical fat pad – sometimes referred to as the buffalo hump – is an accumulation of fat on the upper back between the shoulder blades.
8. Pubic Area
Both men and women can struggle with unwanted pubic fat. Sometimes called “FUPA,” liposuction of the pubic area could pair well with liposuction of the abdomen.
